I find that you can tell a lot about a person by the kind of music they listen to. So I'm starting up this thread in connection to Shadie's so we can hand around music and delve deeper into one another's thought process' c:
Most of the music I listen to tends to be heavily depressing or extremly thick with emotion xD I can't listen to it sometimes because it alters my emotions. I made a top ten list with some side recomendations because im too lazy to expand on so many songs but I still want them out there xD Here is my list!
10- On My Own by Hedley 'it gets better everyday I dont have to say im coming home' an upbeat breakup song? xD who knew. This entire cd by Hedley is a soundtrack for my teen years, because im patheticly predictable like that. But really, beat + lyrics = win.
9- Therapy by All Time Low 'arogant boy love yourself so no one has to' when I was younger I was basicly my leopard Ilyich minus the personality disorder. Therapy took the life out of me and made everything worse -.- I choose to write instead ;D Yeah but honestly in the end it all comes down to having to deal with my own stuff, and this song makes me feel better about that desicion
8- Danny Boy by Franc D'Ambrosio 'the summer's gone and all the leaves are falling' this song makes me cry everytime I listen to it -.- It makes me think of my Popie and that is utterly depressing. I always end up sitting in a corner somewhere when it comes on my ipod xD Oh well its a beautiful song.
7- Lay Your Weapons Down by Brand New Shadows 'I never thought my mind could be sober' I was a horrible temper a couple of years ago. I was a horrible person. I still am, but im trying now. I have to keep trying. No matter what crap is flung in my face. If I dont give up me others can't, which is the single greatest leason I've learned.
6- Marchin' On by Onerepublic 'we know we're not what we've seen' I do listen to happy music! xD see! Anyway more sentimental stuff c: Maybe its crude but I dont care how horrid I am so long as I'm a better person then the people I detest.
5- Mastermind by Mindless Self Indulgence 'I am the mastermind its like a suicide' no great insight here xD its just a sexy song~
4- Weightless by All Time Low 'maybe its not my weekend but its gonna be my year' When I met ashley I got a slap in the face that told me to wake the hell up. I needed to stop playing mind games and actual live. Thus this song -waves hands-
3- No Way Out by Phil Collins 'theres no way out no hope no future' A classic song. Phil Collins is a god thank you very much. Also Brother bear is the second best disney movie ever after The lion king :p Any song about finding the way out of some horrible issue somehow ends up on my playlist so xD
2- White Blank Page by Mumford And Sons 'you did not think when you sent me to the brink' People I know and will not name seem to think its all my fualt I went nuts. They like to tell me im a horrible person and I had everything coming to me. But you know what? Im happy now and their still snivling children who are hated by almost everyone that meets them. So they can play their games all they want, I have someone else to depend on now.
1- Skin by Sixx: AM 'they dont even know you all they see are scars' Im an extremly insecure person. I refuse to wear shorts and wont wear a bikini because of the scars on my stomach and thighs /: It makes a lot of things extremly scary for me. Im always worried people might see them if I move the wrong way or that at some point Ashley will relize how ugly they are and leave... This song gives me shivers everytime I hear it, makes me feel better, reminds me im not just a blob of wierd xD
recomendations! Loosing My Religion by R.E.M Fix You by Coldplay Tonight Tonight by Hot Chelle Rae Sound Of Madness by Shinedown Disaster by Hawthorne Heights Outside by Staind Mumford And Sons <-- really anything by them is amazing

I do not listen to much music at all, but I could probably pull ten songs out...hehe I will do basically what Ilyich has done, without the ending recommendations because I just don't know that many songs xD
1)Jesus Take the Wheel by Carrie Underwood 'Save me from this road I'm on' For the first 14 years of my life, I was an angry girl with little for others to like. I had friends, but most were bad examples that only helped me drift farther from where I should of been. This song caught my attention when I first joined the church, when I first learned that I have a Saviour that loves me. This song helped me realize that, though I was far off the track now, He would aid me and take control if I let Him.
2)Onward, Christian Soldiers by Sabine Baring-Gould 'Like a mighty army moves the church of God' We sang a lot of interesting hymns in church, but this one always got me on my toes shouting when it played. I loved it so much that everyone requested it when I was getting baptised, knowing it would make the day all the more spectacular and memoriable for me. I just love everything about it <3
3)Change This World by Daniel McGahan 'He changed this world' This was a tribute to Steve Irwin...of course I will adore it. The first time I heard it, I pretty much died crying. It was a solemn reminder at first, but now it has become a worthy memorial that I see as the best tribute made for him <3 And it has such a beautiful meaning/message.
4)We are One by Marty Panzer & Mark Feldman 'Your journey has only begun' I think this whole song holds so much truth. My idea of a Utopian planet is when people begin to understand that we are all one big family. Humans are all connected with the animals and the earth. Once we can learn this, then we can finally find peace is coexisting.
5)Big Enough by Chris Rice 'I figure You’re big enough' There isn't much I can say besides that this song speaks with me so deeply that it is beyond words. I always doubt my ability to understand and comprehend, and it takes a lot for me to realize that I don't need to. God knows all for me and He is big enough to heal me of my sin even when I am not big enough to forgive myself.
6)Adoration by Newsboys 'And he won't let go' This song is the first song by the Newsboys that I heard and it remains being one of my favorites. It reminds me that, although Christ gives me everything, all He expects is love and adoration in return.
7)Way Beyond Myself by Newsboys 'So I think it's time to leave my doubt behind' This is the song that introduced me to the Newsboys. My friend wrote a journal entry about it and I had to search it...I didn't listen to it until quite some time later but it grew a flame of love for the band. And since listening to it, it has helped me to release all the doubt I ever had about my faith.
8)Born Again by Newsboys 'This is where I finally take my stand' This is such an uplifting song that I couldn't help but pile it into here xD Whenever I hear it, it gives me motivation to go out and do missionary work for my Father <3
9)I Hate Everything About You by Three Days Grace 'Why do I love you?' Okay, so I know this doesn't seem like it should be here, but it is. I, for some very weird reason, adore this song. It doesn't speak of anything about me that I know of, I guess it is just the fact that it was the theme song for a video done for Ackecheta and Izaray so it is more of a memoiur thing xD
10)Crawling in my Skin by Linkin Park Again, doesn't seem to belong in this list, but I love it for the same reason. One of my former RP sites, a warriors site, I had a kitty named Viperstar that this song was the theme song of I loved playing that kitty xD
As you can tell, I started frantically flailing my mental arms at the end to try and find some more favorite songs xD If my MP3 was charged, I would have done a random search and picked randomly

You have made this at the perfect time! I've been adding music to my favorites on YouTube all week and listening to it nonstop! Now, I have a lot of Christian and Alternative so.. no judgement lol. I like other types of music, as well, but this is just my favorite.
10. Life on Earth - Band of Horses 'Life on earth is changing' Okay, not really much to say with this one. It's not very inspiring and it doesn't make me extremely happy. It just helps me sleep, so I love it to death lol.
9. Monster - Skillet 'The secret side of me I never let you see.' I just love this song!! It's a big deal because it's my Band director's favorite song xD Which is hilarious because he has such a sweet disposition. Also, the rest of the band love it too so.. GO BAND! :3
8. Christ is Risen - Matt Maher 'Oh, death! Where is your sting? Oh, hell! Where is your victory?' This was a song that convinced me to bring Christ into my heart and helped me go up in front of an audience of over 300 at a student conference and let everyone know just how much I needed our savior. It has a lot of value to me so don't ever rag on it.
7. Ours - The Bravery 'After tonight, who knows where we'll be tomorrow? What if we're never here again?' I see this as the ultimate graduation song c: I've showed it to a couple friends and they agree with me. So, I'm going to play it at the graduation party in three years a lot lol
6. You Won't Relent - Jesus Culture 'I'll set you as a seal upon my heart' This is just an awesome and inspirational song; my friend Abbie and her older sister sang it at my church and I just instantly fell in love with it.
5. Beautiful Things - Gungor 'All this pain; I wonder if I'll ever find my way. I wonder if my life could really change at all.' Oh my goodness.. this song. When I went on a mission trip called Houston Project (it was in Houston, duh) this song seemed to follow me around everywhere I went. It played nearly every day just as we were leaving the worship center to go to our small groups with our church. Houston Project was life changing, so I'll always remember it when I hear this song.
4. Valerie - Amy Winehouse/Glee Version 'Well, sometimes I go out by myself, and I look across the water' Okay, it's just an upbeat and happy song, and that's why I love it. There's just no other explanation lol
3. Dog Days Are Over - Florence and The Machine 'Happiness hit her like a train on a track.' This song makes me happy x3 Seriously, when I hear it I just feel so much better than I did beforehand. I don't even know why.
2. A Praise Chorus - Jimmy Eat World 'Crimson and Clover. Over and over.' This song is a favorite because I love Jimmy Eat World and the 'Crimson & Clover' part is so fun to sing. I just love it lol
1. How He Loves Us - David Crowder Band 'He is jealous for me; loves like a hurricane, I am a tree. Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.' Okay. This song. Is amazing. My friend, DeAnne, sang it the second time I ever even went to my church and.. wow. It was beautiful and it's just such a beautiful song. It just makes me think about how much He's done with the best intentions for me.
I'm too lazy for recommendations. lol

Hahah I'm glad this thread is up, too! I'm always listening to music when i'm on the computer, and now I get to check out some new songs ;D I listen mostly to rock and alternative music. Some may say it's depressing, but I don't find it all all like that:o Starting with my favorites~
0 - MUSE. The band, Muse. Pretty much any song by Muse I love. Check them out if you haven't already. If you've never heard of them or associate them only with Twilight, go to youtube before I go over there and eat you<3
1 - You're going down by Sick Puppies This song is awesome. It's sexy. Hehe. I didn't like it at first, but I grew on my the second time listening to it. It's catchy.
2- Chamber the Cartridge by Rise Against 'This is noise' Favorite part there ^ Good song and awesome guitar ;D
3 - Voodoo by Godsmack I like in the beginning how it's different, and how he speaks it throughout. It's a song you have to listen to a couple times to really like it.
4 - Beast and the Harlot by Avenged Sevenfold I love avenged sevenfold, and this song especially because it gets all melodic for the chorus. Yay:D Eh, I just looked up the lyrics, and those deeply religious and stuff might not like the lyrics. They're aren't bad but you know, don't want anyone to get upset and yeah. Go check it out though, it's a good song! :D
5 - It's not me it's you by Skillet Hey, I used these lyrics for Mirage. No one has posted in her thread yet, btw And I agree with Moon, all the songs by this band are awesome XD
6 - Handlebars by Flobots I knew this song before it got all popular, then after it became overplayed, people started to hate it. Well, I've always loved it. It's different, and awesome.
7 - Bird and the Worm by The Used Turn volume up to max. Blast song. Do not blow out speakers. Then will you truly realize how how this song is.
8 - No Control by Pepper I like ska music, like this. Click the link. You know you want to.
9 - Crystal Vases by Last Royals No one really knows this song yet, but the few people who do know it, love it. It kinda-sorta-not really reminds me of mumford and sons.
10 - Chop Suey by System of a Down I rock out to this song.

I just love all these songs. I'm a deep kinda person ;D
Skyscraper - Demi Lavato 'It's a long way to fall but I'm closer to the clouds up here' Life hurts. And it sucks. But you can raise yourself high.
Who Says - Selena Gomez 'I'm no beauty queen I'm just beautiful me' It's the perfect song to listen to when you're down. It's so happy. You're beautiful, kk? ;D
How to Save a Life - The Fray 'I would have stayed with you all night had I known how to save a life' This has meaning for me... not sure how to describe it. I was recently suicidal, and I still get those thoughts sometime. Half the time I'm not living for me... I'm living not to hurt and disappoint others.
You Found Me - The Fray 'Just a little late, you found me, you found me.' I'm waiting for someone to find me too... sort of. There's an inner me I don't let out, someone who's dying under lack of confidence and worry and fear. Someone who can't cope but is anyway. I know my Savior has felt this way too, and worse... And it helps, but I feel... guilty all the same. I shouldn't. But I do. ...Anyway for such a happy person (both inside and outside) I have a lot of unhappiness bottled up inside >.<
Change - Tracey Chapman 'If you knew that you would die today, saw the face of God and love, would you change?' Ahh... the bitterness of people astounds me. Sometimes I'm scared it's not going to change and only get worse and worse, but then my faith in people, in love, in hope and dreams and God, it's all renewed. I'm not the only one who doubts, and wonders if there's really good people out there... and then I see those good people.
Why - Tracey Chapman 'Why are the missiles called peace keepers when they're aimed to kill?' Where'd the good people go? Seriously... there's just so much negativity.
Mine - Taylor Swift 'You are the best thing that's ever been mine' Not sure why I love this... maybe because I can relate to a dad that leaves... and is many unhappy words... yeah.
The Best Day - Taylor Swift 'I had the best day with you' I love you Mommy.
Happy - Natasha Bedingfield 'Landlord's knocking at my door, cussing me out' One message: You're still blessed. The worst of the worst of the worst can happen, but there's still SOMETHING good. So just be happy. If the world sees it can't get you down, then the world's gonna be shocked.
Freckles - Natasha Bedingfield 'Why waste a second not loving who you are? Those little imperfections make you beautiful, lovable, valuable.' Love you for you! Honestly, you're beautiful. I LOVE YOU! Whoever's reading this, I LOVE YOU!
Unwritten - Natasha Bedingfield 'Today is where your book begins, the rest is still unwritten' YOU make your life. All the pain, and the heartaches, and the jerks of the world canNOT take away your story. They cannot change your story. All they can do is pop in and do cruel things... but you still make your story. It's YOURS, and you can make it beautiful.
And otherwise: DUDE THIS CAMELIA CRISAN IS SUPER GOOD! She has an awesome Romanian accent. Florence + The Machine is win. Mumford and Sons is win, as long as you can find the radio edit versions. Anything by Natasha Bedingfield. Her and Taylor Swift... brilliant role models, brilliant singers, brilliant people. Anything by Taylor Swift (YOU KNEW THIS WAS COMING)
