Starlingclaw had her kittens yesterday from 2-god only knows when it started-am to 4:10am. So official birthday is July 12th, 2013. She had five in total, we're not completely sure of the sexes yet but it's looking like four males and one female. Everything's looking pretty good! So I figured might as well start a little thread to keep track of development in because I'm obnoxious and you guys are the ones who have to deal with me. vwv So far only one of them have a name and that would be Skunkkit because Lindsay's dog is a dipshit and attacked and killed a skunk a couple of nights ago. In honor I suppose. She's the black and white one with white on her back. The other four are a black and white with a solid back, a diluted calico, a solid black, and a ginger and white tabby. Mama is very protective and it seems her neurotic behavior has found a new terrifying outlet but she lets us handle them so that is good. Starlingclaw is over all doing surprising well as a very young first time mom, seeing how she is just barely 11 months now. (her birthday is August 9th) No abandonments and she licked everyone clean on her own. Not to mention the violent attacks on the poor Geronimo. But alas. She did take the tabby kitten from Lindsay or I (i don't actually remember who it was ;- by it's scruff to put it back in it's box. So hopefully she stays a good mommy, though the poor tiny thing is gonna have some issues in the future if those five kits get much bigger then her. The calico kitten was born up on the top bunk of a bunk bed because obviously you want to go leaping and scrabbling up there while in labor. Which is when we woke up and waited for the placenta to pass so I could hand them both down to Bhu and they could go in the nesting box and not risk kittens falling off the bunk. The other four were all in the nesting box thank Skoll, no trying to go back to the bed by Starlingclaw. also i have pictures Trying to avoid bright flashy lights. Around 3:30 so should be fourth kit Almost all done. Last born ginger tabby is still attached by it's umbilical cord Okay it's no longer four am better picture time. All dry and about 12 hours old.
