Laela
I'll taste the sky and feel alive again. And I'll forget the world that I knew, but I swear I won't forget you.

Personality: She used to be incredibly playful and have endless energy. But after being poisoned she finds that her energy is sapped up very quickly. She is smart and determined. Sometimes she is so determined that it undermines what she was trying to do in the first place. She loves Holitorn very much but she doesn't know what to feel about Jasninon or the Akando pride.
History:
Laela was always the favored child. The daughter that her mother always wanted. Her mother kept it hidden for a very long time, but it was always true. They were always moving when they were young. Laela was never scared because that was the only life she knew.
That lack of fear changed very soon.
She was attacked by a lioness cub. She had never learned self-defense. She blacked out for a while from the pain and when she awoke she was with Taraji and he was giving her and herb that saved her life. However it was going to send her on a slow trip to death at the same time. The chemicals in the flower that caused cells to grow didn't stop. And her arteries started to close up. Tumors started to grow. Acid started to dissolve her brain.
It was during this time that it became apparent that Laela was Lapara's favorite.
She didn't want to be. She loved her brother dearly and wanted to be equal with him. But her condition was making it more and more difficult to communicate. And making it more and more difficult to connect to the brother who she had always been able to know.
Her mother was then killed by Folami. After a quick quarrel with one of them she and her brothers left to go to Akando. It was during this journey that Holitorn informed her of her condition.
Laela had a break down. She ran away and went and spent the night in the rain in a field of lavender and it took her brothers many hours to find her. The lavender had sucked the poison out of her infected skin and she was on her way to recovery.
They then went to Akando. Her talents as a strategist were soon enough recognized and put to work. Holitorn on the other hand didn't seem to have a talent at first. He would often wander off to the rocky outlands, and come back smelling of blood.
Laela was already beginning to suspect that Holitorn was harming himself, and as he started to become a warrior that just seemed to know the body and how to destroy it, her suspicions got stronger. Eventually she followed him out there to the rocky places. And saw him coming back. He saw her too and she didn't say anything about that. She didn't need to.
Holitorn is ever more distant each day. She is working to ensure that the people who robbed her of her energy and some of her mind live longer. She doesn't know who she is. And she doesn't know what her purpose is. All she knows is that she needs to find out.
